A lot of fun

I'm normally not a massive fan of 'zombie shoot-em-ups', however I did spend a good amount of my time on this!

Of course the levels were repetitive, however the stats at the end of the level (% headshots for example) and wondering if you were going to get a new weapon or not made it a lot more fun to play, although when I earned the flamethrower, I seemed to spent most of the time in the levels holding the mouse button down and running about and succeeding, which eventually got pretty repetitive.

Overall though, great job and best of luck with any future Newgrounds submissions

Jimp responds:

Glad you liked it! Cheers for the review!

It is pretty good :D

I did find it very addictive, although I did appalling most of the time, since I haven't got a wide knowledge of American culture.

One small point - the Guns and Roses question was faulty. I selected the correct answer (K-Mart), and it told me I was wrong. So yeah :P

pacdude responds:

I'm getting that a lot. PM me with what it said the correct answer was and I'll try to fix it.

Quite a good tutorial!

Well done on making a very useful tutorial :D

I like the design of the buttons, but the background itself was very dull, so try and make a more professional and sophisticated background to your next tutorial.

You could also add a design to the cursor, as it would look a lot better than using the everyday boring PC cursor.

I recommend adding music to this tutorial, and if you were to add music, don't forget to place a mute button on each page as well.

At the moment, the user cannot go back a step. Next time, add a 'previous' button.

If you are considering making a more complex tutorial, use videos to guide the user through each step, rather than just pictures and text.

im not good at handling music. i can start it but i dont know how to stop it

A great dress up game

I wish there were more dress up games on NG which can match this games quality.

I love the fact you gave the user so many different types of music to choose from, but I couldn't find a mute button, which is something more or less every game needs.

The graphics were very good, I loved the cursor :3, and the backgrounds were very nice.

Just a couple of things to improve on though....

1) Add a layers button, as at the moment I can't place some of the objects on top of others.

2) Make SBC a little bit bigger

3) You could clean up the game, by adding menus where all the content can be found.

In the end, it was a great game, so well done :).

Thanks for the wonderful review, I'll remember the mute button for other games - And if I ever create another dress-up, the other three useful tips as well :)

A brilliant guide :).

This is a near perfect tutorial, it is clearly written, and not too wordy, which is great.

The graphics were fine. Granted the choice of colour wasn't the most sophisticated of choices, but it was very presentable.

Sticking with the presentation, it would have been even better, if you designed a cursor, and made a nice design for the movement buttons.

Personally, the music wasn't to my taste, so I'm glad that there was a mute button. There was one tiny error in the flash, which is when you click the sound button more than once, an extra bit of music will play.

If there is anything you could add to make this better, it would be a short multiple choice quiz at the end of the 'Good Review' category, so the users can get all the info drilled into their head.

Well that's about it, well done with the tutorial, and good luck with all your future projects :).

RohantheBarbarian responds:

Yeah the sound loop is an issue I'll work on in the future.

As for the navigation buttons and general presentation, I got some complains in my last flash that there was too much colour, so I tried to limit the colour without eradicating it. It's tough to find a good balance.

Anyway, glad you liked it, and thanks for an awesome review.

Looks promising :)

When this game is completed, it will definitely have a chance of reaching the front page, as the graphics are great, and what you plan to add in the main game makes a lot of sense.

A couple more tips

Add a help option on the start menu, and on the top of the screen, as I have never seen Naruto, so I have no clue about some of the stat options.

Give the game about 3 separate loading spaces, because if more than one person is playing your game on a certain computer, they would want their own file, rather than playing on someone else's.

Also make sure you have a volume control and mute button.

Well, I hope that was useful, and good luck with the ultimate game :D.

eBlitz responds:

Thanks, I never really thought people would enjoy it this much, I've still got a lot graphics to go though but I've already managed to improve some.

I'll work something out with a help system or at least a tutorial for new players.

Actually I was thinking of adding 3 save spaces (For some reason I'm imagining something similar to the way Zelda's save system works so just 3 "profiles" and a you can view a few stats about each one before you load any.

And I'll at least have a mute button ;) I'll need to look a bit more into controlling sound to figure out the volume level but it's a great idea and i'll be sure to add it.

Thanks for the review.

Wow.

This is a fantastic multi-player game, and this definitely deserves front page, or some other type of recognition.

Well done, and good luck with any future games :).

LorenzGames responds:

Thank you very much! :)

Not bad but....

...this game can be made much better.

For Example, you could...

1) Give more detail to the character. At the moment Billy isn't a very interesting person to find.

2) Have 3 or 4 difficulty levels for the user to choose from.

3) Put a stopwatch at the top of the screen which shows the user how long it took them to complete each level (and show them the average time spent per level, and total time spent to complete the game.

4) Add a mute button

5) Maybe even add a few more songs to the list (Not 100% necessary though).

6) If you're really ambitious, you could make an 'arcade mode', where the user has a given amount of time to find Billy.

7) Make a high-score table.

Well that's it for now. Best of luck with all your future projects!

funkycaveman responds:

thanks for the tips, needed for the next game

Ouch!

Some people have been a bit cruel about this game.
It isn't a disaster at all, it's pretty good.

For example, the loading screen and choice of music.

To make it even better I would do the following.

1) Before the game starts give the user a choice of cursor graphics to choose from (About 3 or 4).

2) Improve the use of colour. Maybe give each level a different colour, rather than all of them being blue.

3) Repeat the music when it finishes.

4) Give the user 3 lives.

5) There aren't enough levels, and most of the levels in here are bloody hard.
I would give the game about 10-15 levels, where the level difficulty would slowly increase.

6) Add some obstacles. For example 'opening and closing doors'.

I think if you did all the above, the game would receive a score towards 3.00, which would be brilliant!

WasabiNinja-XX responds:

Yeah sorry I scrapped this game, but thanks anyways! I will take your advice, and I am sorry for releasing the wrong version. This is actually my rough draft. There are a few bugs and problems but my cat tripped over the cord before I could save the better one. Stupid cat...

Needs a bit of improving.

It's not bad at all, it just needs a little bit more tweaking then it will be very good.
For example:

1) There was one small spelling mistake at the start (feell).
Okay this won't improve the game, but it's first impressions.

2) The music is great, and it works well with the game, but it does end suddenly.
I would do a continuous loop, rather than leaving a game with no music.

3) You may want to add some more music, and a mute button (which can be selected via the keyboard).

4) The instructions menu is quite dull. Brighten up the use of colours, and add some detail to the background, buttons, and text.

5) It can also be fairly hard to spot the maze lines at times.

6) Make 3 or so difficulty levels. The game now would probably be at hard level.

7) I would give the user 3-5 lives.

8) Finally add a game over screen.

Well that will be all, and good luck with all your future projects :).

WasabiNinja-XX responds:

thanks. im not remaking this thoh, just making something similar, better, but i will still take your advice. thanks for not blamming my sorry ass to the curb.

feell!!
